Keep essential records accessible
Carry identification, appointment confirmation, insurance information, medication list, and an emergency contact sheet. Keep a secure digital backup as well as the documents you need in person. Store the treating facility’s address and telephone number in a format you can access without relying on an internet connection.
Pack medicines thoughtfully
Use original labelled packaging where possible and confirm documentation and import requirements before travel. Ask a pharmacist about storage and the quantity needed if the stay is extended. Do not place all essential medicine in checked baggage or assume that a familiar brand will be available locally.
Choose practical clothing and equipment
Bring clothing that is comfortable for the proposed examination or recovery and easy to manage if mobility is limited. Pack prescribed assistive devices and chargers. Ask the clinic if a particular item is necessary rather than buying recovery equipment based only on online patient anecdotes.
Leave room for the return records
Before departure from Korea, collect the discharge summary, prescriptions, laboratory reports, and procedure documentation. Keep receipts for eligible claims. The most valuable thing you bring home may be a precise account of what was done and how follow-up should proceed.
A two-bag document plan
Keep the essential travel and medical summary in your hand luggage and a secure backup separately. Include the generic medicine list and contact information in a concise format that another person could use if you became unwell. Avoid carrying only a phone link that requires a password or internet access you may not have. Store sensitive full records securely while making the emergency summary readily available.
Questions before packing equipment
Ask whether a prescribed device needs airline notification, special batteries, or a power adapter, and confirm transport rules with the carrier. Ask the clinic whether it supplies any items needed immediately after treatment. Do not bring unapproved products to use on a wound or injection site. A practical packing list is specific to the care plan and should avoid unnecessary purchases prompted by promotional recovery packages.
