Kidney disease has many causes

Diabetes, high blood pressure and other disorders can damage the kidneys through different pathways. Disease stage, protein in the urine and the pattern of change over time influence care. A broad promise to regenerate kidneys does not show that a product can treat your particular cause or restore advanced loss of function.

Organoids are not replacement kidneys

Researchers grow simplified kidney-like tissues from cells to study development, disease and possible therapies. These laboratory tools are not the same as a functioning kidney transplant or a proven infusion that restores filtration. Ask which part of an advertised research result has actually been tested in patients.

Track meaningful outcomes

Kidney blood tests can fluctuate with hydration, illness and medicines. Ask whether a study measures sustained kidney function, urine protein, dialysis requirements and safety, rather than one improved creatinine result. A treatment should not be judged from a short-term laboratory change alone.

Coordinate with a nephrologist

Bring your kidney diagnosis, serial laboratory results, biopsy report if available and current medicines. Do not postpone dialysis planning, transplant assessment or established kidney-protective treatment while evaluating an experimental option. For travel, confirm laboratory access, medication supply and any dialysis arrangements before booking a procedure or accommodation.
