Find the cause and stage first

Liver disease may arise from viral infection, metabolic disease, alcohol-related injury, autoimmune disease or other causes. Treatment depends on that diagnosis and on whether cirrhosis or complications are present. A broad liver regeneration claim should not replace specialist investigation or management of the underlying cause.

Understand what improvement would mean

Liver enzyme changes do not by themselves prove that scarring has reversed or that survival has improved. Ask which clinical outcomes the proposed cell treatment has been studied to change, in which patients and over what follow-up period. A temporary laboratory improvement needs cautious interpretation.

Do not delay established pathways

People with advanced disease may need specialist management of fluid accumulation, bleeding risk, confusion or transplant eligibility. An experimental cell intervention should be discussed with the hepatologist already managing these risks. Ask whether the treatment could interfere with current medicines or a future transplantation assessment.

Prepare for a careful review

Bring the diagnosis, imaging, endoscopy and laboratory history, along with all prescriptions and supplements. Ask for the exact cell product, manufacturing process and legal basis for its use. Before travel, clarify emergency access and whether the center has hospital support for complications associated with advanced liver disease.
