Ask for specific boundaries
Clarify what movement is encouraged, what is temporarily restricted, and when reassessment is planned. Generic advice to exercise lightly may be difficult to apply. Describe your usual activities so the clinician can translate recommendations into realistic daily choices.
Coordinate existing rehabilitation
Tell the procedural team about physiotherapy, occupational therapy, or other rehabilitation already underway. Ask whether it should continue or change. Your home therapist may need a procedure summary and updated restrictions to avoid working from assumptions.
Track function as well as symptoms
Improvement may involve performing a task more comfortably or consistently rather than simply changing a pain score. Record agreed functional goals and discuss progress at review. Do not interpret soreness after activity as evidence of regeneration or assume that all discomfort is harmless.
Adjust with clinical input
If symptoms worsen, pause and seek advice according to your care plan. Ask who will supervise progression once you return home. Rehabilitation should be part of coordinated care, not an optional add-on sold as proof that the cell procedure has worked.
A rehabilitation handover example
If you already attend physiotherapy, ask the Korean clinician to describe the intervention and any restrictions in a note for your therapist. Include the date of the next medical review. The therapist can then discuss how the existing program fits the new plan. Without that handover, both teams may assume the other has provided activity advice, leaving you to reconcile conflicting instructions on your own.
Questions about progression
Ask what activity level is appropriate now, what signs should lead you to stop, and how progression will be decided. Clarify whether discomfort during a particular movement is expected or needs assessment. Avoid adopting a generic online exercise program simply because it mentions stem cells. The useful plan is the one connected to your diagnosis, physical examination, and recovery from the actual procedure.
